Ready to explore the world in style? 🌍✨ Our latest Footwear Essentials series is all about 'Travel Shoes'—your perfect companions for every adventure. We often receive inquiries about which shoes are great for travels, and we're here to help!
From Day Sneakers that keep you comfortable on the go to Chelsea Boots that are a must for colder climates, we've got you covered. We love to talk to you about your footwear needs.
1. Avoid New Shoes
Avoid buying new leather shoes just before your trip.
It is always best to travel with shoes that you have worn a few times. This ensures they are comfortable and you won’t have to worry about discomfort on your journey.
2. Rotate your shoes
If possible, we recommend bringing at least 2 pairs of shoes. Rotating your footwear gives your leather shoes a break, allowing them to air out and maintain their shape and quality better.
3. Pack a travel size shoe care kitÂ
Leather shoes need care. Bring a small kit with a cloth and a leather cleaner to keep your shoes looking their best.
4. Opt for Comfortable Shoes
Leather shoes with cushioned insoles or memory foam provide extra comfort for long days of walking. Make sure the soles are well-suited for the terrain you’ll encounter.Â
For example, our Chelsea Boots are great for cold weather but are not suitable for snow, as the floor can be slippery, and you'll need snow boots with grips for better traction.
5. Protect and Pack ProperlyÂ
Use shoe trees to help maintain the shape of your leather shoes during travel. To prevent scratches and scuffs, pack your shoes in the cloth bag provided with every Commune Wear purchase. These bags make it easy to bring your shoes on trips or around town. Plus, you can save space by tucking small items like socks inside the shoes.
