Scent + Sole: a space in between;

Our midsummer pop-up began the way all meaningful things do; quietly, with intention, and surrounded by the people who matter most. Friends and family came first, filling our Cluny Court store with their warmth and presence. It’s a small, considered space we shaped gently, this time alongside our friends from A Thing of Sense.

The collaboration, like most good things, started with a conversation. We were on a trip - inspired, open, dreaming a little and the idea sparked. Scent + Sole became our way of grounding that spark into something real. A shared space, built on slowness, intention, and the kind of detail most overlook.

Together, we brought back Ground, the scent we first co-created with A Thing of Sense this time in candle form, for a longer lasting warmth. Eight handblown glass vessels by Métier Objects held the scent’s new expression, each one unique, made slowly and purposefully for this space. Alongside them, we offer AToS signature tin of the candle and the original scent mist that marked the beginning of our collaboration.The room carried something familiar, yet quietly new. A scent. A mood. A memory. It reminded me why we began Commune Wear at all, to create more than just things, but pieces that hold space. That bring you home to yourself. We also introduced our Ease Sandals that evening—a silhouette shaped through patience and persistence. It took us a year and a half, five rounds of refining, and countless small decisions to get here. A modern interpretation of the fisherman style: open, grounded, softly structured. They carry the values we keep returning to comfort, calm, and a quiet kind of confidence.But beyond the products, it was the presence that stayed with us. The slow conversations. The shared laughter. The people who showed up not just for what we made, but for the meaning behind it.It’s easy to get caught in the next thing, the refining, the doing, the constant forward motion. But that evening asked us to pause. To look around. To notice what’s already here.

To everyone who joined us - thank you. For holding space with us. For walking this journey from idea to reality.

With gratitude,
May
